Quick Path IDS (QPIDS)

Quick Procedure IDS (QPIDS)

The Quick Path Information Disclosure Statement (QPIDS) Pilot Program is outlined in a Memorandum of Understanding between The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and The Patent Office Professional Association (POPA). The program is intended to eliminate the requirement for processing of a Request for Consideration (RCE) with an Information Disclosure Statement (IDS) filed after final rejection, after allowance and before or after payment of the issue fee in order for the IDS to be considered by the examiner. There are three paths for this pilot, depending on when the IDS is filed relative to the last action done in the application and the payment of an issue fee. This program has been made permanent.
